I am currently a student in The School of Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Design is something that once I discovered it, I knew there was no going back. It has manifested itself in all aspects of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. Analyzing the world around me is something I have learned to do effortlessly, whether it's the simple branding on shops or more complex designs,
I grew up in a small town neighboring Ithaca, New York. I never knew how lucky I was to have grown up in an area where art is the culture. Every year since I was in high school I have had the chance to go to the Ithaca Art Trail and meet all the talented people in my area. I always knew art was something I wanted to do, but once I explored the art trail and saw the various techniques, mediums, and skills, I knew I wanted to include as much of it as I could in my own work.
Now as a third year in college, I have taken so many electives to further my skill set, one particular class was printmaking. I have always been awed by printmaking and the sheer organic-ness of the prints and the plates. I want my designs to cover a broad range and tap into many mediums, whether its ink, paint, printmaking, or found objects, I want to bring as many aspects of it as I can into my work.
